In a Given Moment

In any given moment we know certain truths about ourselves. Who we are and who we want to be. What we know about ourselves can change and it doesn't mean that we were wrong at the time or even lying, we just know more about ourselves in that later moment. There was a time in my life I knew I would never have kids because I wasn't the "right" kind of person to be a mom. There were times that I knew I was going to spend my life with George, or Chris, or Tom. When I was in elementary school, I knew I wanted to be a third grade teacher. By the time I got to high school, I knew I wanted to be a computer engineer. None of these things came to pass, not because I couldn't achieve them, but because I learned more about myself that led me in a different direction.
